FREDERICKSBURG, Va., Jan. 26, 2012 -- EOIR Technologies, lnc. of Fredericksburg, VA announced the opening of its new Cloud Video Analytics Center of Excellence in Springfield, VA. The new office will support multiple Department of Defense (DoD) and Intelligence Community (IC) clients by providing state-of-the-art solutions and expertise in the field of Cloud video analytics. Dr. Bruce Swett, Director of EOIR's Advanced Research Group, made the announcement.
"EOIR's Cloud Video Analytics Center of Excellence provides a Research and Development environment for producing novel methods of extracting information from massive amounts of video and imagery, to include wide area motion imagery (WAMI) and hyperspectral data," said Dr. Swett.
This initiative places EOIR at the forefront of this technology to provide solutions for managing and analyzing video in the Cloud. Although the Center is new, EOIR has deep technical expertise in the areas of Cloud computing and Computer Vision, which are being leveraged for multiple military and civilian applications. The Center's Springfield location places it in proximity to Ft. Belvoir, NGA and other DoD agencies.
EOIR grew exponentially in 2011 and hopes to continue to expand its reach in defense, intelligence and commercial markets providing innovative technology products and services.
