The GPS Groundtruther is a tool that can be used to keep accurate positioning information for multiple vehicles during field tests. For increased positional accuracy, the system is capable of using differential GPS.
The system consists of 2 parts: a rover unit and the basestation.
The rover unit is mounted on the vehicle and transmits the position of vehicle back to a basestation via a long-range wireless radio modem.
The GPS Groundtruther Basestation software receives and plots the locations of the vehicles on a digital map. It can also record the information to a file for later playback or analysis. The basestation software is written in Java and is designed to run on any Java compatible platform.
